I just wanted to point out to everyone that it is still possible to register a claim for a refund in Wales. I have just found a company online called care review bureau who still do it as the dealine only applied to England.0

You don't actually have to use a third party at all. You can do it yourself.3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -
Thank you. I did start the process but wasnt sure where to go after the first time the PCT rejected my appeal. I dont really have time to be chasing everything either. Its more about the principle than the money for me anyway.0

Hi, I just wanted to point out the 30/09/12 deadline does not apply to Wales. It is still perfectly possible to make a retrospective claim if your relative was based in a residential/ nursing home in Wales. Also if your relative entered care between 01/04/11 and 31/03/12 you have untill March 2013 to register your claim with the PCT.0

Hello guys,
I just wanted some advice.
I have been liaising with my local pct since the middle of September.
I had envisaged that the process would be nearing completion by now. Up to now, the only progress that has been made is that the pct have acknowledged receipt of my letter.
I have called them every week and all they keep telling me is that they have had a lot of claims and have been waiting g to receive them all before processing any.
Does anyone know what options/avenues I could use to expedite the process.

Hi
I had a call from Social Services advising me as it is 6 years since my mother died they have destroyed all her records?
Does anyone know if this is legal please? as an assessment was carried out by them and we were advised my mother needed a high level of nursing care at the assessment.

Technically the care homes only have to keep notes for 3 years after the last entry made. Without the notes it can be very difficult to prove the level of care needed.0

I don't know the answer to your question but I have to say that the middle of September is no time at all! That's less than 2 years. I have been waiting for over 2 YEARS and the PCT have now said that they have to deal with more recent claims first!3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -

I have had good dealings with Lisa Morgan of Hugh James.
Our case was taken on a no win no fee basis.
She managed to get care fees paid back from 2007 - 2010.
We still have another year to deal with.
I managed 2011 - 2012 myself but only with help from others who had won cases and after reading extensively for about 6 months and applying care notes and medic notes to DST.
I personally think you need to beat them using their tools.
I should say my father was thought borderline.
Even knowing what I know now, I personally wouldn't have been able to achieve NHSCC but for HJ.:)0
