NTL BB Speed Upgrades

It was rumoured that NTL was to upgrade all of it's services to 1mb, 2mb & 3mb respectively mid March. However this didn't happen but I have been assured by CS that it will now roll out these upgrades as a direct result they are no longer appling the £25.00 for the manual upgrades:

Click Here to go directly to the upgrade server, upgrades for cable modems are instant **NOTE - Once you have upgraded you cannot change packages for 30 days**

It says there's a £3.99 monthly charge? Have I read it right?

I had been expecting to get the speed increase automatically, but had to use the 'upgrade your speed' page (see link in the first post).

I suspect NTL require you to do this as they want you to accept some revised term and conditions when you upgrade - for the new 'usage cap' for example.
