Amazon, incorrect price, me not getting item, help!

hello all, so i purchased a numark 4Trak dj controller at the amazing £160 price.(around £600 everywhere else) i thought that it was an amazing deal. but ive had great deals from amazon before like this

all is fine, i e-mail the seller (amazon marketplace) for tracking details, only to be sent the following---

"Dear Mr Cameron

It has just come to my attention that we had sold you - Numark Mixtrack DJ Control Surface -
which is the wrong product whilst you had requested Numark 4TRAK 101304 Digital DJ Controller which is significantly higher. I am very sorry for this mix up as and you will see under product notes added by us is referenced to the initial product - Numark Miixtrack DJ Control Surface. It seems as though during our uploads our supplier provided the wrong Product UPC number or Amazon has made a mistake by associating the Product UPC to wrong product page. We are looking in to this now and have duly refunded you for the item. I am very sorry once again for this mix up and inconvenience this has caused you. I am appalled that we did not realise this so we could have notified you about this error at an earlier stage. If you would like we can issue you a £5 cheque to reimburse you for your troubles.

Once again Mr Cameron I am very sorry for this. I hope you find another deal on-line.

I will be making sure this does not happen again. We have re-routed the parcel being sent to you now back to us so you don't have to worry about receiving the incorrect order.

If you have any questions please email us.

Joseph Banks. Sure Deals."

i am absolubtly gutted, is there any way of me fighting this? and getting the controller for the advertised price, i understand it is probally not the sellers fault, but amazons,

any advice!!!

Thanks so much!

John

    No

It would also appear you have bought from a company on Amazon Marketplace and not Amazon.

If you're of the inclination you should take their offer of a fiver. They have no legal duty to offer you any 'compensation' at all, so snap it up if you want it.

But as has been said, no you can't force them to give you something at an incorrect price. They shipped the wrong item but they diverted it, so it doesn't matter. They charged you but they're refunding you, so that doesn't matter either. So no, you don't really have an argument.

I have ordered a few of these 'too good to be true' items, which you seem to acknowledge this probably was. They key is to not get too attached: you may get it, you may not. Shops can't be forced to sell something at insanely low prices.
This is everybody's fault but mine.

Free fiver - say "That's a shame, but thank you very much, I will buy some sweets with it"

It's all in the link, you have no way to force them to give you the item you wanted.

    Mistakes happen.
