IMHO, Booking a Hotel or Flight online is risky enough without bringing eBay into the equation . !

what  .... sorry have to say that is absolute ********s

Martin, we need a 'Worst post of the month' competition and i nominate the reply above !

Back to the post, I wouldn't buy any hotel on ebay unless they have an extremely large, positive feedback and are paypal protected, you are far better going straight to the hotels online or via a reputable company online.

The poster does say In their opinion i.e. not necessarily fact - we all have to go with what we feel comfortable with.

Worst post of the month ? Your opinion !

Comparing my percentage of thanks to post count with yours it would seem a lot of other people find me slightly more helpfull .

Paypal protection means nothing. If the seller clears their account you stand little chance of Paypal fighting your corner. When I got ripped for £600 (not for a holiday btw), Paypal recovered 6 pence and closed the case!
If you intend to use Paypal, clear your account first, so that you can then fund the payment completely with a credit card. That way if it coes t1ts up you can do a charge back via the credit card company.
  • Hi

Last year we booked an apartment in Tenerife on e-bay. It was the owners own apartment on a small private complex with pool. It was absolutely fantastic, clean and well furnished. No problems whatsoever. In fact communication was friendly and efficient.

Although we did have some initial reservations about making a holiday booking through e-bay, we did check the feedback and luckily the owners also had their own website which we also looked up. We also Googled the area and did some background checks. Only once we were happy did we "bid".

Since then we have also booked b&b accommodation through e-bay and would not hesitate to do the same again. We have always found good clean quality accommodation and friendly people.

However, as with all things on e-bay f it looks too good to be true then it probably is.

    Cats
