London Energy 'online' price increase
Seems EDF Energy (London, SWEB and Seeboard Energy) have increased the 'online tariff' effective since 9th March. But supposedly only for new customers, will not effect existing 'online' customers.
The concerning coincidence for us, is that they waited till the 9th March to switch us over to them. So now I'm concerned we'll be getting the increased prices. Even though we had signed the contract in February and got everything done before March. Unless you are classed as a customer when you sign the contract, not when they start supplying you?

Have you tried their Customer Services, who should have the definitive answer about whether (or when) you will be affected by the increase?0

I spoke today to customer services about this subject, as I signed up before the 9th, although I won't be their customer for another week or so.
They told me the price I signed up at is the price I will be paying, and they hadn't increased their prices since January.
It seems the sites like USwitch are not including the discount you can get in-place of the nectar points. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Yeah, Customer services told me the price increase is only for contracts agreed after the 9th March. So since our contract was done in Feb, we shouldn't get the increased prices.
I thought the savings were included on the websites? As in the monthly direct debit (elec: £8.40 per year, gas: £16.80 per year) discounts. At least I thought they were listed in the details of the tariff.
I know once signed up, you can register your nectar card to get a one off set of nectar points for joining (100 per fuel + 150 for signing up online), then ongoing nectar points (150 per fuel, per quarter). But you also get the option to exchange the direct debit discounts for ongoing nectar points (200 per fuel, per quarter) as well. We decided to keep the hard cash direct debit discounts.0 -
I have decided to keep the hard cash too.
In all the years I've been using sites like USwitch, there have been very few occasions when their prices are correct for all suppliers at the same time. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Got our first elec bill. They are the original pre-rise prices so that is good. Just a slight problem with the direct debit not kicking in before the bill. Got an email saying you can manage your account online, but seems you need to phone up to ask for a username/password/pin.0

Teak (or anyone), can you tell me please the address of the web site which allows you to manage your LE account online? I can see no mention at all on their main site at https://www.london-energy.com. Thanks.0 -
From the email:To access your account on-line visit https://www.london-energy.com/myaccount, you’ll need your user name, password and PIN.0

They won't let you go onto the online tarif if you are an existing customer but you can swap to another EDF company (SWEB is one) online service, whose prices are exactly the same.

Teak, thanks for the URL to the LE 'myaccount' logon page. I've been with LE's online dual fuel tariff since February but have had no information at all from them about this online account management service. Perhaps I'll get an email from them soon like you did. In the meantime I've emailed them to ask how I go about getting a username, password and pin for this service. Is anyone else using this service yet?0

I have rang twice to get online access to my EDF account but never got a PIN or any other information to enable me to do it. Now given up trying.Regards
