Is this a scam

Hi
I left a note on a window when made a small dent on someone's car. Their insurance company rang me and asked for my insurance details and thought it was all done and dusted. I am now being called daily by a company called 'Accidents Happen' regarding this accident and they are asking for my car registration number. They don't seem to have the details I gave to the insurance company so where did they get my phone number from and how do they know about the accident? Is this a scam?
Thanks!

It could be a scam or it could be the TP is going via the credit route and "Accidents Happen" are the TP's ambulance chasers
Either ask more info from them or simply give them the details of your insurers and let them deal with it for you0 -
I personally wouldn't give them any details about you at all.
Its them should be confirming their identity not you!!!
I get this a lot now - calls from companies which may be legitimate but they start with 'Hello Mr X - before we continue will you give me your SKY/BT/Electric account number and your date of birth'
I always refuse - unless they can provide me with information to confirm their identity first - some may call it pedantic but these days you really can't be too careful with your private information.I am a Financial Adviser specialising in Mortgages, Protection, Health and Medical Insurance.
