    We created our own problems, self cert, RBS, lending to people who had no chance of paying it back, inflating bubbles(not just property) etc etc.

    Surely all of those pale in comparison to the spending of the state. Hence why it's now becoming apparent to get us to the situation of spending less than we earn is going to require the removal of such a large part of the economy that we get dragged into a downward spiral.

    And did the USA or(any other country in the world) in anyway create a £250 Billion welfare state, of course they never

    The UK created it's own unique problems, if anything our banking problems were similar to many other, not because of them.
    And lets face it the Banking and financial institution has no loyalty to any one country, they will up sticks and move to the Artic if they can line their filthy greedy pockets.
