Request they consider this as a solution while maintaining your current pay arrangements.

  • Having forwarded the advice from ATW to your HR department, I'm interested to know what their response was?

As yet there has been no response. I am still waiting for H&S to decide on the best course of action.

Despite the response from AtW stating that my query re evacuation is outside of their remit, I am wondering whether it would be an idea to get them in to do a workplace assessment anyway. They may be able to advise on further adjustments neither me nor my employer has considered.

I had another ATOS OH teleconsult last week and the OHA has answered the question my employer asked about working closer to home positively, indicating that even if this was only possible 2 or 3 days a week (the only offices clioser to home are only open 2 days a week each) it would be beneficial as it would reduce my travelling time by 90 minutes a day.

I don't know what to do now. Despite the assumptions on here I don't whinge and moan to get my own way. I actually don't like asking my manager how things are progressing as I don't want to be seen as a 'nightmare' as it was so elequently put in a previous post.

That is the same with the Union, I don't want to be on their coat-tails all the time and so I ask questions on here first to get a better understanding and hopefully not need to go to the Union.

  • I think it's always worth getting a AtW assessment, they're trained to come up with solutions and recommendations that you wouldn't expect your avergae member of the public to necessarily be aware of. I was really impressed with the range of options they came up with for my own assessment. In terms of working at home - when this became an option for me during flare ups or other acute episodes, AtW came and assessed my home space recommending a range of light weight, transportable equipment to use when at home or travelling - i'd say there's nothing to loose by requesting one, but potentially a lot to gain, good luck
