having BIG problems with BG! long story but basically i have been on the wrong ( more expensive ) tariff for 12 months since switching from n power. i have it in writing from the switching company the tariff i should be on. for the the last 11 months BG have ignored all phone calls and letters so i stopped the DD 3 months ago as i am well in credit and had no choice, in the hope they might do something about it. nothing. so i lodged a complaint with energy-watch. i am now getting disconnection letters from BS, the last one saying disconnection on the 3rd of april, plus £235 costs. told energy-watch who confirmed they have put a stop to the disconnection but the letters still keep on coming. i have nothing in writing from energy-watch that says this, and this is the worry. how do i know? 3rd april is getting closer and beginning to panic!

Have you rang British Gas and asked them if the disconnection has been halted?
Also they have to go to a magistrates court to get a warrant to remove the meter first. You should have been notified of it first, did you attend the court hearing to argue your case (in which case the magistrates would probably have refused the warrant) or just ignore it? If they haven't got a warrant it is probably just a debt rep coming round to scare you and try to extract payment.0 -
have rung BG a thousand times and got nowhere, the case is now with energy-watch. the last letter from BG says someone is coming on the 3rd of april to disconnect, and they will get a warrant. so i suppose they dont have one yet. i have not heard anything from a court and did not know i can argue my case first, thanks for that.0

When did you contact energywatch as well - A Supplier has 10 days to rectify the problem once energywatch contact them.0

have wrote to BG four times, all recorded. no reply. i contacted energywatch in december when i gave up with BG. the letters keep coming from BG as if i had never contacted them. copies of all paper work is now with energywatch. they have only told me verbally over the phone that they have put a stop to the disconnection. i am still very concerned BG will turn up on the 3rd.0

If they haven't got a warrant it should just be a rep and you needn't be alarmed. You can't be disconnected without a court warrant.0
