Why do they keep messing about with traffic light phasing???

Getting sick of the changes on my regular route along the A4 and the junction of the A205/Kew Bridge. It used to just "work" and you didn't notice it. Now they've changed it to quick bursts between the red/green cycle so the traffic is just bunching up as only a few cars go through each time.

So frustrating !!!

In a nearby town, they deliberately screwed up the timing to try and force people to use the Park and Ride.

    Probably for the Para Olympics.

You should have seen what they did to the A3 lights at the Roehampton turn off.

The A3 a very busy main artery into / out of London where the lights are biased to letting the A3 traffic through. Whilst Wimbledon Olympics on they changed it to being on green for the A3 for no more than 5 cars at a time.

Why they could not direct the Wimbledon traffic along the A3 which would have been quicker for them and would not have caused the queues.

I wish they had left the Euston Road as it was during the Olympics, it worked so well during the Olympics

Its is unlikely that the council would change the timings without erecting a signs saying " Signal priorities changed" or "Signal Timings changed". Its most likely that the junction has a faulty detector which causes the lights to think there is a long que this consequently gives other phases less green time.

Unlikely where you are but I assure you it happens every other week in my area. Admittedly they often get the message when you start to annoy them with rather long and complex FOI requests :D

It is the Olympics. They will be put back afterwards. Most of the main routes to London have been changed.
