I am wondering how easy it would be to get a Euro bank account?
I live in UK but work in Europe regularly and get paid in Euros. It would be great to access to the account with a debit card. Any ideas would be welcome.
thank you

Very easy: I know that Citibank in London offer a Euro account with debit card and I think that this product is available from most of the major banks. Lloyds TSB, for example, can open an account for you with the bank in Spain that they own.0 -
Which of the Euro countries do you work in? Might be an idea to approach the local banks.
If you search this board, there's a thread about people opening accounts with a German bank called DKB. Haven't got one myself, so can't report any personal experience, but if I recall, it's apparently all v easy if you speak german.
No idea what the equivalent of the FSCS protection arrangements are, but I would check it out (think it might be 100K Euros, but obviously not with the FSCS).0 -
I have an account with BritLine - the English-speaking branch of the French bank Credit Agricole. It costs about €0.55/month in maintenance fees, and extra if you want a debit card. It's probably not the cheapest option and it takes a while to get through the opening process, but it's useful if you have links to France and don't speak good French.
As mentioned above, Euro accounts are pretty widely available in the UK. I know that Barclays does one, for instance.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
