Yale Door Review Websites

Hi,
I am interested in getting a new front and back door, after looking for reviews I have found the following 2 review websites, yet the reviews of yale doors greatly differ!

(cant post links as im a new user) - but a quick search in google will show you that:

trustpilot - very good reviews
reviewcentre - very bad reviews

Lots of the bad reviews seem to involve evander - the subcontractors this company must use?

I wondered if Yale have anything to do with the positive reviews reported on trustpilot or something! how can opinions vary so much on two different sites!?

Anyhow, my dad would be able to fit the door for me so don't have to worry about a cowboy coming to do the job, but just wondered if anyone had any opinons on the actual doors themselves?

One final note, somone on another forum recommended using a company called fusion doors, when you go through the order process on their website, the door styles, accessories (house number, letterbox etc) are exactly the same as the yale website! even down to the photos at the end when you see your door on a backdrop photo!

Just wondered if this is a sister company or something!

Thanks
Andrew

I don't see Global or Fusion on the secure by design accredited installers list ?

If they are not on ..Then I doubt very much they have done anything other than stick some information on their web site.

Pas 23 and Pas 24 as well ?

    They look pretty good.

Not too happy that they uses there own security rating.
Hard to tell how they compare.

What is wrong with a steel door. These ones should give you enough time to dispose of your drugs, should the wrong sort come knocking :)

No idea how much they cost though

No energy rating for this door ..I wonder why ?

Again no standard testing ..I admit some guy knocking his back out using a sledge looks impressive ..But I think the door wasn't tested well ..no check on hinges and that drill into the key hole was pretty much staged ..I would get a drill into that key hole.

    To drag this post back.

I ordered my door in Nov. 24 hours before installation i had a call from the installer to inform me the door was faulty, installation couldnt not take place. I was then told another date. AGAIN cancelled due to the door not being ready.

I was then assured installation on the 4th Jan. AGAIN 24 hours before the installers said that the door frame hadnt arrived.

It took ME to chase everything with Yale. I demanded money off, i had to call the Customer Services manager. I asked for an email confirming the agreed refund (not anywhere near what i wanted) but nothing... Frustrating.

  • The letterbox of Yale make fitted to the replacement front door, has had the anodizing lift in several places, but although only 5 years old Yale did not want to know, although searching around found this is or was a common problem
Have found an alternative from another supplier which is made in Germany as the supplier stated that the Yale ones are poor quality & they do not supply them anymore.
What is annoying is that Yale know this but turn you down when complaining.

The door was fitted by a supplier who has gone into liquidation(convenient) and it would appear although the guarantee is active it is only with the installer, not with the door manufacturer.
