Neutral feedback...grr

Someone left me a neutral feedback, claiming there were no instructions. I agree that there were no instructions and I clearly stated this in the description. Can i get it retracted?
Thanks

I doubt it, eBay usually rolls out the "well, even though the comment is nonsense, it is the buyer's expectation that counts".

So if you're the seller in the UK and the US buyer's expectation is that the item will be teleported to their door within 3 minutes of them sending a paypal payment- and you fail to provide that expected service, you deserve a negative! :rotfl:

Anyway, that's my experience - but others may have had better luck...

  • Hi, I've had a couple of neutrals for silly things and it's really narked me too. I had one neutral just about to drop off after 12 mths, then got another neutral about p&p that wasn't even correct (I charged exactly what it cost to post).

Can you reply to neutrals? I'd put something like.....

"Yes, no instructions, AS STATED IN DESCRIPTION"

  • Certainly worth asking CS if the listing was clear that no instructions were included as they would remove. Also worth noting if they purchased on a phone the buyer might not have seen the description.

A fair view point but the response can say more about the seller than the buyer's feedback, a simple

"My apologies for any disappointment but this was noted in the listing"

would look far better to others reading and considering whether to buy from a seller or not.

Phone ebay customer services, and hope to get a Dublin rep on the line.

Ask them to remove the neutral feedback as the buyer was asking for something not included in the listing.

Good chance of getting it removed

Oh, and don;t leave any feedback for the buyer especially a negative comment on positive feedback.

  • Only a slanderous feedback will be removed, racist too etc. The buyer can change it. Send a request feedback notification.

There are lots of reasons why feedback can and will be removed. You need to read eBay policy if you are unsure, don't just guess.

Some of your info on your posts overnight has been incorrect. if you haven't used ebay for a while it is worth having a quick refresher course as ebay changes constavtly.

OP, I have had a positive feedback with poor stars removed because buyer said something like 'seller didn't mention xx was missing from box but nice item' and had left me 1* for description. My auction had stated 'selling cheap as box is missing XX' and my title stated 'incomplete'

However I have one single neutral across all my accounts that they won't remove and that mentions being disappointed with something where it was clearly stated in the auction- but they didn't hit my stars so I didn't persue it after the first call to ebay.

I took a year out. Big things must have changed as eBay wouldnt remove such silly feedback, even threatening feedback that I have received. You can actually get a lawyer involved to remove feedback :O not that you would want to waste your money.
