Bathroom extractor fan

I had an extractor fan fitted in my new bathroom, but it's a bit feeble and I think I'll have to replace it with a more powerful model when funds permit.
In the meantime, I can'd decide whether clearing the room of steam after a shower is better a) with feeble fan on and window closed or b) with feeble fan on and small window open.
Opinions, please?

I always disable automatic extractor fans when I have them in bathrooms/wherever. I open the window to let out steam and then close it again.
An extractor fan sucks cold air into the building (through air vents round windows, and gaps round doors, and through air bricks) at exactly the same rate as it sucks your moist air out. That can mean a lot of extra heating in winter.I am the Cat who walks alone0
