Monday 27th August - What small DFW things will you be doing today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

Morning,
Thanks for starting us of lpp. Sorry I wasn't about over the weekend, I really do think that August has been my worst mse month ever since my lbm - combination of being off work the whole month (lucky I know) and the wedding looming large (omg it's this Friday - I get married THIS WEEK!)
It's already not an mse day as I've just paid the outstanding balance on my flowers (close to £200), but most of my spends have been wedding related expenses. It's just been quite an experience watching my hard earned savings disappearing in front of me.
Anyway, large spends don't stop me keeping an eye on the small stuff.
Check banking
Washing done and dried on airer (blimming bank holiday weather)
Take kids to farm for free on our family pass
low spend day (non wedding stuff)
Flylady (need the house in order by Friday)
Diet hard (this will be ongoing for ever I think)
Check for surveys
Sort through my purse and put my change in the sealed pot
Investigate changing gas/electric
Have a fantastic day everyone.Ninja Saving Turtle0 -
Morning guys :wave: thanks for starting us off LPP!
Wannabe how exciting for you :T bet you must be bubbling with excitement and nerves by now! :j re weight loss have you thought about running? The "couch potato to 5k is a great little running programme for non runners to give them the buzz slowly and building up. Honestly that's how I go into running and I never thought I would, but now I love it. And when I'm running regularly I can eat anything :T (within reason of course!) anyway....
Things for today:
* check banking
* hang up washing (didn't do it yesterday
)
* debating whether to apply for a job in London... If I do it needs to be completed by tomorrow...
* go to SM and look for yellow stickered items later
* some form of exercise, possibly a swim if my gym is open
* list some things on ebay/gumtree
* all meals from stores
* not smoke
* try to not eat everything in sight
* read my sewing book for beginners
* Mrs Flylady the bathroom
Ok that'll do me. Have a lovely BH guys :TDF as at 30/12/16

dnms - apply for the job. My mother always says that you only have the decision to make if you are offered the job....
I have tried couch to 5k a couple of times - maybe time I dusted it off again. Not this week though - it's over a fortnight since I've been to the gym thanks to a combination of illness and being busy.Ninja Saving Turtle0 -
Morning all,
Sorry I wasn't around for the weekend thread, it's been a busy one! A friend's engagement party on Saturday night & we had a BBQ yesterday so I was tidying up big time, very proud of how the house looks at the moment though! Annoyingly, there was more drama from the new neighbours & we had to call the police...apparently one of their guest's ex husband showed up & he was "violent". I still don't understand why she couldn't call the police though as she had a phone in her hand! I don't see why she felt the need to pop her head over the fence & ask us to, what a drama queen! I really don't want them here anymore
Thanks for starting us off LPP.
Wannabee - Hope you're mostly relaxing this week rather than doing last minute bits like a crazy lady like I did!
Welcome L2B
Today's plan:-- Food from stores
- Log calories using free app
- Charge phone via pc
- Check online banking & move funds around as necessary.
- Work out what we can pay off CC B & do it! Need to update sig
- Trying to declutter a bit & do some flylady - the house is looking mostly fantastic from my weekend efforts but I don't want to let it slip. There's still so many hotspots that need clearing & I think today is the day to at least tackle 2 of them!
- Must try & do a survey or 2
- Type up noise log nicely for council, complete with a letter...
- Catch up on the weekend thread
- Washing on eco setting x2
- Hang up to dry
- Send relevant docs to new car insurer else I will be charged a nasty fee for not doing so on time!
- Lots of leftover meat from the BBQ so will be having that & some salad from stores for dinner

Hi! I flit in and out of here from time to time, but haven't posted in ages. AS you can see from my signature I definitely haven't been focused on DFW ways for a while! But as I am tring to be DF in 40 months with the help of my DH I am hoping to post here more often!
Today:- I will check my account balance (new app on phone very handy for this) Shouldn't show any changes as NSD yesterday

Remember you will be feeling worse about things because your body is using it's energy to fight off infection... so, feeling down right now is understandable. Drink lots of fluids!0
