Hello fellow house hunters,
i saw this repossession property and i think i can get it on a affordable price though i will need to spend a lot on modernisation.
My biggest worry is there is a quite a big mold in the ceiling..i think its from the upstairs toilet.
please give me your feedback? is it going to be costly? is it worth making an offer?

Looks like a leak, as it's confined to one area, only. Either an old leak, or a tiny drip, drip, drip kind of leak.
It wouldn't concern meWarning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac

It wouldn't worry me too much. Just make sure you fix whatever is leaking before attempting to sort out the ceiling.0

There looks like other marks on the ceiling, as well as a bulge in the mouldy bit.
Possibly shower leaks as well as toilet leaks.
Nothing that can't be fixed with some heating, ventilation, and a sheet of plasterboard.
And fixing the original leaks of course.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
Easily fixed leak. If its an upstairs outer wall, could even be just blocked gutters. Or as mentioned, a leaking toilet or shower/bath.
Expensive to fix? Not really although I'd budget for a ceiling repair because you'll not get that amount of mold out of plasterboard so easier just to cut out and replace.0 -
thank you
for the very helpful info0 -
Mold removal is not so costly, use easily available and cheap products like vinegar, baking soda etc., these products are very effective and able to clean any stain or dirt. These are Eco-friendly also so they do not harm us. To remove mold spray some vinegar on it and leave it for sometime then after wash it with water and scrub it with sponge or cotton cloth.0

Mold that pervasive will be through the entire board and you'll not get a comprehensive removal wiping it down with product.0

Yep agree with the above. Fix the leak, Maybe factor in replacement ceiling which isnt a massive cost. Doesnt look too horrendous£2 Savers Club #156!
