London hop On / Off Bus tours

Does anyone know of any good discounts for this type of attraction? We are planning to visit on 30th / 31st Aug.

Think some take Tesco Clubcard vouchers.

There are normal buses you can get for a small cost that travel the touristy routes

Buy an Oyster card and use the normal buses. The No 11 bus goes past most of the major touristy bits like Buckingham Palace, through Westminster so you can see Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, down the Strand, Covent Garden's nearby, St Pauls Cathedral.

Obviously there are plenty of other buses which go to different parts. Just check out the TfL website and you can find out which bus you need for wherever you want to go.

Can't remember what the max for the day is but certainly far less than the cost of one of the tourist hop on hop off tours!

it won't help you for next week, but a couple of months ago I got £2.50 of Tesco clubcard vouchers exchanged for £12.50 worth of Days out voucher, which can be used against the full price of either an adult or child's fare on the Original London open-top tour buses.

Maybe something to look out for if you're thinking of doing it again in the future?

apart from that, I'd buy a day travelcard at any rail station and then use tfl to plan my route across London, visiting whichever sites I was interested in by bus or tube.

Remember you can get just a zone 1 & / or 2 travel card and it covers buses in any zone

I saw a deal on timeout for a two day hop on and off bus tour, beatles of Diamond Jubillee walking tour and Thames boat ride included for £15 instead of £41. it is valid for dates until the end of September.
