Indoor or Outdoor Hutch in Summerhouse?

Hi there
Following on from my thread introducing Sparky a few days ago we are now moving him into our summer house for the Autumn.

He was previously an indoor rabbit who lived in a Conservatory but we have kept him outdoors in an outdoor hutch. We have always planned to move him into our spacious summerhouse though for the autumn and winter to keep him a bit warmer and give him more freedom to run about.

However, we have had atrocious weather all week and it is set to continue and so we are thinking of just making the move for him now (and if its a hot day which is unlikely will bring him back outside).

Anyway we are now wondering if it would be best to move his outdoor hutch into the Summer House or maybe move him back into his indoor cage but put it in the Summer House instead as he did love his previous cage (although he has settled in very well into his new outdoor hutch too).

Would the indoor hutch be too cold for him (Especially in the winter months) in a summerhouse? or would it really make all that a difference?

Thanks

How cold does the summerhouse get in winter/ how well insulated or ventilated is it? Do you intend to use any heating method or heat pads? Are you thinking to switch to the outdoor hutch if the weather gets cold?

    Hey FireFox

Thanks again forgetting involved in a thread of mine. We decided to go with the outdoor hutch, think the indoor hutch would probably be okay for now as it isnt freezing cold out there or anything but come the Winter months the extra shelter from the outdoor hutch would probably be best - so its easier to keep him in that full time rather than switching and swapping him all the time... especially as he has settled into it so well comign here. :)

    Thanks

I would keep an eye on the temperatures in there :) Do you have a thermometer you could pop in so you can keep a check? x

Good shout MrsDrink. I dont think itll be hot enough for him to get too hot in it with the weather we are getting but I guess a sunny enough day would need to watch. Thanks :)
