paying for access for a survey???

            It's perfectly normal for an EA to give the keys to a surveyor. If they want to accompany your survey then is it because you are using specialists/builders instead of a proper RICS surveyor? If it is a RICS surveyor, then I have absolutely no idea why they would want to charge for their time. Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.             I'd certainly call their bluff and tell them politely but firmly that you're not prepared to pay to have access for a survey that needs to be conducted.Errors of opinion may be tolerated where reason is left free to combat it. - Jefferson0
