Ok so I'm going to become an auntie for the first time at Xmas, and I'm looking for ideas for a hamper.
Johnsons top to toe wash
Johnsons bedtime bath
Johnsons body lotion
Johnsons soft bubble bath
Flannels
Fisher price lullaby seahorse
Money box I'm saving £2 coins in this for her
I've bought a few clothing items too - sleep suit, bibs, bodysuits and pyjamas an I'm thinking of buying some feeding stuff ie cup, spoon etc
Anyone have any other suggestions?

Board books or those soft squidgy plastic books
Bibs
Nail scissors
Soft hair brush
Sudocrem or Metanium
Hooded towel
Baby sponge
Nappy bags
Baby wipes (I like Huggies because they are quite thick. Pampers tend to be thinner and don't deal with all needs quite as efficiently
)
Baby record book
Teether0 -
This might make a nice 'gift' that isn't 'baby care' related like the other things listed. It's traditional and something she can grow up with, It is £20 so this could perhaps be the main item in the hamper ?

I did this last year as my nephew was born in December, I basically used the items you have said and included bargain clothes I got in the sales and instead of using a basket I put it in a baby bath and then cellophaned it up as usual£23366/ £39206.92 DFD Nov 20160

We bought a "baby's first toy box" for a tenner (it was on the shelf edge labels for £12) at Tesco recently and it had three toys in - one's a meh thing that clips onto a pram or carseat and jangles but the other two are really good - one twizzly thing that has different bits and patterns on and one uspecified mousey floppy ears thing that's my little girl's current absolute favourite thing in the world (she can grab the ears and chew the teething bits on the end)... would possibly split nicely into a hamper - considering one of those floppy books on their own is like a fiver or so?

The other thing of supreme awesomeness - sockons (amazon have them or mothercare do). Anyone else in our family who has a baby is getting bought these as they saved me a fortune in non-lost baby socks!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -

bepanthan nappy cream fantastic stuff
any kind of teething accessories
tommee tippee soother savers(these ones have a open/close attachment) even if they dont use dummies great for attaching toys to the pushchair ect

if shes due around xmas maybe a toy aimed at 3/6mths as it'll be along time till the next round of presents are due.
most new parents are pretty sorted for the things they'll need for the 1st few wks so things that they'll need to buy later are often much appreciated as giftsthis year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk0 -

Personally I think the parents would appreciate £20 of baby related items than something that will get shoved in the loft.Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -

If you are the type of person that shoves your childs gifts in the loft then ok, but it isn't nice to tar everyone with the same negative brush.
Besides i didn't suggest it as a replacement did i? I suggested it along side of the baby items and a nice extra thats a very lovely traditional gift.
We don't all have the same tastes, perhaps you think my suggestion was awful and thats ok too, but it's very sad of you to feel the need to waste your time commenting on it. Personally i wouldn't bother.

Aaaw what a lovely thoughtful auntie you are going to be. I must say I really enjoyed being an auntie too. How about a nice book for the little one, it's such a beautiful thing to start to read to a baby and it's never to early. The book people and I'm sure other places like the works etc do some nice black and white starter board books or how about your favourite childhood book you could share with your little princess and enjoy it all over again:-) They are never too little to enjoy a book or the closeness of cuddling up to you whilst you read it:) Also many places do value packs (seen them in Costco ,the book people) set of ten picture books for £10 bargain with lots of modern classics included. I'm waffling I can feel it!!! Off to bed apologies I get carried away but adore reading to littlies:)The secret of Christmas
It's not the things you do at Christmastime
But the Christmas things you do
