why do buyers keep buying things in the wrong order?

I know I shouldn't be complaining as a sale is a sale BUT I keep getting buyers who don't buy the closest to ending item, they buy one that has a few days left to go:confused:
tonight I had a BIN end at 8pm, 5 minutes later the same thing sold that had 4 days left, so I then have to relist one to "fill the gap", as I have them ending every other day.
I took my best sellers out of SIF because it was happening there too.
perhaps I should change tack and just list 1 10 day Bin with 2/3 available, maybe every 3 days, what would be the most cost effective way?

Buy it now does what it says on the tin. As a buyer, I often find a buy it now item and if the price is right, I will buy. I don't check the seller's other items to see if they have the same BIN item for sale but ending earlier.

:rotfl: Buyers buying in the wrong order.. Made me giggle!

As JohalaReewi says, if I find something I like and accept the Buy It Now price, I buy it and rarely bother to search through the sellers other listings before buying that item.
    The £2.00 Coin Savers Club = approx £22.00  :j.. The 20p Savers Club = £17.80.

I always check the sellers other items as well as searching for other sellers listing the same item.

A few days ago I was bidding on a DVD. A seller had one on auction and another on a BIN at £7.99 ending a few days later.

I sniped the auction at £7.99 but lost to a £9.00 bid so I immediately bought the BIN at £7.99.

OK, I only saved £1 but it all adds up.

The £9 buyer wasted £1 for the sake of a few seconds search.

This type of thing happens regularly on ebay.

yes!!! This is annoying but in a good way in the sense that at least the items are selling. Not all buyers are sellers so they don't tend to think of these things. Whenever I buy a 'buy it now' I always choose the one which will end the soonest to help out the seller!

    It keeps happening!
people must watch my bin's for some reason, then miss the end time, then it seems like they do a backwards search for items newly listed and buy that one, I can't explain it otherwise. , I think I will just start putting one BIN a week with a few available, and hope it will save on listing fees in the long run.
no wonder my shop sales are rubbish if people don't tend to look what else I am selling!
ebay is completely unpredictable though , with no discernable pattern, my best day is Monday for some reason. I have found that having more listings running does not automatically mean more sales - quite the opposite sometimes. I am glad I don't have to rely on it for all my sales, I think I would have a nervous breakdown!

I notice on my BIN sales people leave it until the last day before they buy.

I sometimes have a dozen or more people on the watch list for a BIN item. Why? Do they want somebody else to buy it so they dont feel guilty about spending the money?

    Why do you have multiples?

Why not have them all end at the same time?

I did have BIN's for my best sellers ending every other day, (because it's a big category) but was finding items ending unsold, only to sell when I re-listed another 10 day one.
I will now be having one 10 day BIN per item with say 5-7 available, assuming that I am right in thinking this will cost less in listing fees?

right, I am now totally confused!
I have just gone to see how much to list a multiple bin, for 2 items it was 90p, so 10 p cheaper (it is normally 50p for 1).
for 3 items it was £1.65! how do they work that out??? thats dearer than 3 x 50p.
surely it should be £1.35 for 3?
