Any catches with this carphonewarehouse offering?
Options
I was having a look at carphonewarehouse's site to see what kind of deals they are offering and came across this:
http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/buy/HTC_SALSA_O2_KM009_FCON#rdReviewsContentTab
This was just the first one I looked at really so I am assuming there must be a fair few other similar deals around as well. Because I am always wary of mobile retailers I have been trying to see if there is a catch but cannot see one. It appears to do what it says on the tin.
So I would be grateful if the regulars in here could give it a look over to see if they can spot something I may have missed , i.e. redemption, mandatory sign up of phone insurance etc.
My main intention is not to sign up but rather to use to batter Orange's retention team with. They would have to go some way to match 250 mins per month / 500 Mb data and an Android phone for £7.50 per month methinks.

No catches, apart from cancellng the insurance and tmti. However, unless you particularly want that phone there are much better deals using cashback.0

The 'catch' is that the phone is pants.0

My main aim is to use this as a bargaining chip when dealing with Orange retentions and the fact the phone is not top notch may not matter too much as I am just going to tell them it is an android phone(and let them guess which one).
If they can't do any better then the chances are I will just go the sim only route as I am happy with my Desire and will probably throw Ovivo at them as well. I already have an Ovivo sim which is working fine but am a bit reluctant to port my number over in case the company hits the rocks and difficulties arise getting my number back.0 -
Orange retentions don't price match. The system won't let them.
They have more options than upgrades, but the system has limits (based on your spend over the last 6 months, plus a few other factors), and they can't over ride it.0 -

Indeed. But, incredibly, Asda will give you £60.50 to recycle it! Add £6.50 to that and get the much better Huawei Ascend G300 for £67 here Result!
PS The HTC Salsa new is also going for way over £100 on ebay!0 -
Hah, great spot there.0

Just had my chat with disconnections and as I suspected they could not come close to the deals discussed here. The best they could do was offer sim only, 150 mins + 250MB data for about 7 or 8 quid. The end result = request for PAC which I got instantly via text.
They seemed genuinely sad to see me go and in truth I unexpectedly felt quite a bit sorry as well. The service has been good for the 3 years I have been with them BUT the savings with these new contracts are just too great to ignore so I have now got 30 days to decide to choose a sim only contract or get a phone and ebay it + cashback + quidco/topcashback cashbck.
The only downside I see with talkmobile(apart from coverage posibly) is that they charge 10p/min for voicemail but then that is the price I am prepared to pay for such a cheap contract.
PS: I've not totally given up hope that the retentions team won't give me a ring back with an improved offer even though I am a very low spender.0 -

I started off in similar position when I originally got HTC Desire C for £10 pm incl 500 mins, 5000 texts and 500 m data from CPW
bought huawei-g300-ascend for £67 deal - no-no-brainer & since this is on Vodafone and CPW use Talkmobile (vodafone network) I didn't even need to unlock it
put my HTC Desire C on Ebay and it's at £85 + £6 p & p already with 5 days bidding still to go, so I'm already £20 clear & uber glad I made the switchWhen will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?0
