Switch now before end of EON contract
I'm on EON SaveOnline 9 and have been advised my plan ends on 20 September.
We spend around 2000 pa *currently* on power, and this could rise to 2200-2400 easily.
I note scottish power have the best rate for me currently. If I switch from eon I'll lose the last bill's discounts and pay a cancelation fee (8%) (£30) - so probably around £50.
Ideally I'd wait until 20 september but the current rounds look like a big hike with even the CHEAPEST scottish power being around £150 more than I pay currently, whilst the cheapest EON was just under £400 more.
of course quidco £55 cashback should compensate for this.
This indicates to me I should make a move and switch anyway.

At your level of consumption, cancellation payments become increasingly irrelevant.
I'm for example paying at the moment more like 300 than 2000.
So, you can see that for me, discounts and cashback can make a _huge_ discount.
Are you considering moving to a fixed, or variable tarriff?0 -
fixed currently - think I'd best just do it todayWhat goes around - comes around

I signed up with Scottish Power on the 19/8.
Eon informed me that the switch would not happen before the end f my contract, so no fee would be charged.
It takes approx 21 days for the switch.0 -
I too was a save an EON online9 customer. My contract ends 31st Aug 2012.
I do not spend as much as you ( we spend around £700 a year or £60 a month )
our cheapest comparison site deal is EDF blue energy, so what we did is get the transfer ball rolling and have now switched EON product to - EON track and save 14, this product has no cancel fees, plus if you change to an internal EON tariff you don't pay any cancellation fees.
That is what we have done anyway.
Just waiting for the new EDF supplier to be confirmed and started.:rotfl:0
