Cannot connect Netgear WN3000 WiFi Ranger Extender to Virgin Media Super Hub

Options
We have just purchased a Netgear WP3000 Wifi Range extender but despite following the instructions we cannot seem to get it connected to our Virgin Super Hub, which itself is useless for a decent WiFi signal. It should be simple but it is not and we cannot find what we are doing incorrectly, Can anybody help in plain and simple language and we are not techies!!!. It seems the problems generally about getting a poor Wifi signal from the Virgin Media Super Hub is well documented. We have tried phoning Virgin Technical support but they are not interested in helping.

    1. Plug the extender into a power socket that is within range of the Superhub
    2. Press the large blue Virgin button for 2 seconds - it should start to blink blue/red
    3. Press the Push n Connect (WPS) button on the extender
When the connection has been established the Virgin button will revert to solid blue
How do I add a signature?
  • I am aware this an older thead which I am trying to reopen as I too cannot get my Netgear WN 3000 wi fi range extenderrto connect to my Virgin Media super hub. I have spoken to Virgin to seek assistance but there do not want to know saying the Netgear 3000 is not their equipment. Can anyone help me with any ideas of how to set it up as it does not want to connect

See the post above-have you plugged it in within range of the existing hub?
Ty it right next to the hub to ascertain if it is faulty or not, if it doesn't work then range is not the issue.
If it does, then find a socket that is within range and near where you want to boost the signal too.

  • I too am having problems connecting my Nectgear 3000 to my Virgin Media Hub. I have tried all the suggestions mentioned but with no success. Statring from the beginning is there any alternative way of connecting. As mentioned by someone else Virgin Media are not interested, but that is in line with their awful customer service.
  • it is a shame nobody has come up with a solution as we can add our names to having problems connecting our Netgear Wi Fi range extender to the Virgin Media Super Hub. If anyone has any more suggestions please post them on this forum. Anythng must be worth a try.I am aware this is an old thread we are visiting but we have only just found it having just joined Money Savings Experts forum on th recommendation of friends. thank you.
