If you only just made the purchase last night then you're looking at the authorisation holds that have been placed. No money has been taken, it's just that some is reserved in the event the merchant takes it.

I never get why people keep pressing confirm, when it says decline.
More often than not its a timeout on the retailers system and it has gone through.
Thankfull in this case the retailler system has auto reversed the auth twice, as it realised the error.
Could be the other 2 will simply drop of in the next 14 days.
Best bet email retailer and ask them what has happened and advise them that you have amounts o/s on your bank account.

This has happened to me before. It could either be automatic fraud protection by your bank but more likely to be the retailer or their merchant service provider ahving problems. Don't keep doing it as it may result in lots of similar debits. In these circumstances the 'hold' will probably be gone after close of business on Tuesday ( as Monday is a holiday).mit is not like an authorisation at a hotel for example which can stay there for days.

You are aware that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result?

I can understand the first time being a blip in the system, but retrying again FOUR times?

Ive not spoke to the bank we have online banking so have checked on there, when it declined i put the details in again and again thought i must of done it wrong or something.
Think it might be because its my partners bank account and the store account is not in his name, never had the problem before but thats all i can think of, and i didnt know if a payment got declined its still held. does anyone have a clue when it'll be in my account again?
Thanks for all you're replies so far :) xx

Only way to find out is to talk to the retailer on that one.

The retailer hasn't taken the money, at the moment the authorisation hold is just on. Just to be clear to OP, no money has left your account the available balance has just decreased. This should bounce back up when the authorisations fall off.

The bank can tell you when it falls off as it differs for each bank but both the retailer and the bank can "force" the hold off although they'll probably bounce you between each other.
