Lloyds Duo Avios error messages

Hi there,

I missed a payment (very silly- but didn't check my statement, slap on the wrist...) on my Lloyds Duo Avios.

Yesterday I couldn't use my card- it kept being declined despite having a £1000 limit on it, and only owing £68 (ish)- now I'm getting this message on my online banking...

"You have exceeded your credit limit for this credit card. Please be aware the values below may incorrect, we are working to resolve this"

My account is showing that I owe the £68 and no more, so any ideas what's going on? Could it be because I missed a payment or is there something more sinister afoot?!

Thanks!

  • Ring them too find out.
Can I find out my credit score?
You do not have a single credit score or rating. Different organisations take different information into account when working out your credit score and may have different scores for different products. (Kindly from Experian)
  • If you have missed a payment the card will be blocked - you need to make at least the minimum payment and ring them to get the card unblocked.

It will be because you missed a payment.

The longer you take to deal with it, the more likely it is to become "sinister".

Its not a joke. Why not set up a direct debit.

I know it's not funny- will be setting up the DD asap!

I'm so cross, because I'm normally so on top of these things- have paid what I owed now though.

Thanks for your help everyone :)
  • Just confirmed with the bank- the card was blocked because of a lack of payment! Direct debit all set up now though so I don't make the same mistake again!

Thanks for your help everyone :)

Just to avoid a comment next month, note that the Direct Debit isn't active until it specifies so on your monthly statement, given the timing you may well have to pay this month manually.
  • Turns out that my card wasn't blocked because of a late payment- it was because my statement was returned to Lloyds due to an error with my address (their fault, not mine!)- and my online banking wasn't giving me a due date until after the payment was late- so have got all late fees & interest refunded to me! Glad it wasn't anything to do with me not making a payment!
