We all know Tescos are rip off merchants, and a lot of their stuff is rubbish, but the presents they give us "usually" makes up for it.

I had a hair in my beef stew at one local tescos another time a fruit salad from the cafe was 2 days out of date I wrote to tesco HO and received a £15gift card as a means of apology.

I worked today from 7am until 6.40pm, slotting a mystery shop in at lunch-time and a chance to get some daily mails for the vouchers. At 6.40pm phoned Mr Welshy to tell him I am leaving the office and he mutters we need milk. He didn't have to ask if I was going to pop into tescos because he knows I will.

I left the office wombled a receipt for 45 points, got to my car and drove to my tescos.

I decided to do 2 toiletry shops buying plax and impulse but also found they had lots of bags of bananas, parsnips, carrots, oranges, nectarines reduced to 9p a bag and milk reduced to just 25p for 4 pints.

I did it in 2 hits and went to one of my usuals - he was chatting away and then when the vouchers came out said he could not use them, however, when I pointed out that the wholefoods could be classed as fruit and veg and that the plax was bought etc etc - he scanned away.

I used 2 x £1 plax, 1 x £2.50 health and beauty, 1 x £2.50 pink, 2 x £2 with different dates and a couple of points. I gained a till SPIT for 100 points too and I also visited the pharmacy getting a free diabetic goodie bag and some quit vouchers which were on dispaly.

I get home after leaving the house some 13 hours later and Mr Welshy says have you done the weekly shop ! not quite but got lots of freebies etc.

I think I will be getting more of the impulse as my daughters like that - my builders have plastered over my light switches and sockets (I kid you not) so at least I can now store my toiletry stash in a dark place ie the extension !

    Welshy x

Too true. i once used one from asda mag in tesco, not at self scan but accidently gave to cashire, and he scanned it and took it. it was £5 and they would have lost £5 because of this.

I didn't say anything though, but wish i had, as even now i feel guilty about it when i see that SA!

Its like stealing or theft by deception at least IMO

I have been sent some somerfield vouchers & one is a £5.00 that will scan in Tesco's, however I'm too scared to use it.
Leadhead is correct though, It wouldn't be my fault if it was accepted, it got muddled in the pile. I handed over a piece of paper with online codes on before & quickly grabbed it off him.

Back on topic I need more impulse as my daughter came in from school & said 'Wow, thanks Mum, these are the best so she's now got 3 of my 6.'

A very kind MSE member has sent me some vouchers which will help me get a good stock in.
