Bulgaria - best area to stay

Planning a trip to budapest and don't want to end up in a dodgy area so wondered if anyone could advise me where to pick a hotel, and also as I have little knowledge of what the 'must sees' are, can anyone tell me what there is to see there. Thanks

  • For me, Plovdiv and Veliko Tarnovo are the best places to visit. Great architecture and a good vibe.

    Spot on.
The whole of Bulgaria is a great, did it all by public bus, and train.
Takes a bit of pre-trip planning in order to get it right, but well worth it.

I suggest you start a new thread and allow this one to wither on the vine.
