For the record, the relationship is well and truly over - I'm only interested in my own wellbeing - financial as well as otherwise
Your ability to borrow is based on your exposure which will include 100% of the joint debts but the link is there and that will impact for some lenders. If he gets into trouble that could effect if lenders look deeper.
only the joint stuff will show on your report.
They may have other information without doing a search there is a lot of data sharing going on.
