Ex Partner - His New Mortgage - Effect on me?

Options
I have recently found out that my ex partner has bought a new house. Fair enough ... however ....

We still jointly own our former home on which we have a joint mortgage of £300,000+

He has bought his new home with his new partner. The price of that home was £375,000.

She already had a property - and I can only assume a mortgage on it. It was on the market for £200,000, did not sell and is now let out at £750 pcm

They completed on their new purchase in June 2012

But there is no search on my credit record - despite he and I still being financially associated via the existing mortgage on our former home.

Should I be concerned? Any views on this situation. I find it odd that there's no search on my credit record. Also find it odd that he's managed to secure a new line of credit in the order of £300k when he already has that on our former property!

Your views, please :D

Without your permission there's no authority for a lender to credit check you.

Who pays the mortgage on your former home?

That's the odd thing. I was not credit-checked or searched, despite our financial association. Was he truthful?

I do. Although it remains in joint names.

    Thanks for your response :T

Maybe shes loaded enough to have it all in her name and pay for it herself

Not according to the Land Registry - they are both named on the charge to the mortgage lender. And she works for the NHS

Either way, I find it interesting that my credit record has not been searched, as my ex and I are financially associated.

They can't check you out without your permission.

All the things that connect you will be on his search so there is no need.

Think it through if they did you and you were connected to Y they would have to do Y who is also connected to A->B->D

It could be never ending or go circular and never end

Could the house be jointly owned by them (as per the land registry), but the mortgage only be in her name?

I believe you can put a notice of dissociation on a credit file even if a joint mortgage is still in place so future lending is "unlinked". My sister did this when her and her ex split up, but it took ages to sell the house and he had moved abroad.

That's my question. We are financially associated. He has applied for (or jointly applied for) a new mortgage of c£300k. But there is no search on my credit record.

So it's OK that it's not on MY credit record? If so, then happy days :j

Not sure I follow that. He is A and I am B. We are associated by way of a mortgage. A and B are connected.

A has applied for a new mortgage and B's credit record has no search.

Possible... thank you. But I really doubt it. She works for the NHS so I guess she earns around £30k?? His earnings are around £150-200K

she could be on a lot more

Why are you bothering, why are you snooping into his and her private lifes that has nothing to do with you. his new lending won't effect you

No snooping here. I thought that if we are financially associated, then his credit record affected mine. And that his credit limited my ability to borrow.

If you're saying that not's the case, then I'm happy - thank you :j

For the record, the relationship is well and truly over - I'm only interested in my own wellbeing - financial as well as otherwise :)
