Refund for faulty goods after 6 months

Hi,

Looking for some advice on a product I purchased from a marketplace seller on Amazon - sorry for the long post!

In february I bought some computer memory, it arrived and one of the 4 modules was faulty, causing the machine to crash and lock up constantly, I returned just 1 module and the supplier replaced it.

The 4 memory modules still crashed the system and I set about diagnosing the faults as I found it hard to believe brand new memory would be faulty especially after a module was replaced. I rebuilt the machine from the ground up, replaced the network cards, thoroughly investigated the operating system, the bios settings, everything down to power saving settings, system voltages and temperatures, still the system continued crashing.

It took some time to carry out all these test and investigations and pay for new items to test in the machine, eventually after trying everything else and the system still crashing daily, I purchased memory from a different supplier, instantly the problem was solved.

I have been in discussions with the original memory supplier who refuse any kind of refund as the transaction was over 45 days old, they have instead sent a replacement set of modules stating that replacement is the only option they will give.

I now have a working system. I've lost faith in the original supplier's product, have no need for it now as its running on the new memory and want to draw a line under the experience by returning their product to them and walk away with my money back.

I realise the purchase was made over 6 months ago but surely SAD FART rules apply still? I have also proved that the memory was faulty with the installation of the second lot of memory from the different supplier. I am therefore now left out of pocket and with the original supplier's memory sat here unable to get my money back..is there legislation on my side or anything I can do to get my money back?

Thanks in advance!

The product was faulty and they company replaced it which they are entitled to do. I can't think of anyway of you enforcing a refund. Maybe just sell it?
