Final selling fee question.

Hi, I sold an item on ebay & the winning bidder then decided they didn't want it. I got the final selling fee back and then relisted the item. The same thing has now happened again with a different person. If I cancel the transaction will I get the final selling fee back again?

Yes if you cancel and the buyer agrees - you get the fees back.

For some reason - which should probably be challenged in court - Ebay refuse to refund listing fees - which is why they encourage non-payers onto Ebay - they still make money.

I think a court would say you are paying for the service you get when the item is listed and that there are adequate tools in place to put you back in the position you would have been if the item had not sold (i.e. eligible for a credit on the second relist if it sells).

eBay's costs do not start with the sale of an item.

I don't use my mobile phone a lot - I can go a month without making or receiving a call - but I still pay the line rental fee (which is cheaper than loading the minimum PAYG credit onto it per month to keep the number). I couldn't argue in court that because I missed a call I should have the line rental refunded for that month; that is just absurd.
