Worldwide Mobile Insurance Help

Hi,
I need some help, I'm looking to get an iPhone insured but can't find a policy that is valid worldwide.
I'm a UK resident but travelling Australia for 2 years.
If i was to buy the phone from a UK network e.g. voda,orange,3 then I could get their insurance but I'd have to have the UK sim inserted as the insurance is only valid with the carriers sim installed.
I'm not old enough to own a home, so don't have house insurance and it isn't covered on my holiday insurance.
I'm not an australian citizen so don't think I can get insurance over here as it states on many of the australian insurance policies.
Anyone know of any insurance companies that can insure mobiles worldwide at least 12 months?
Thanks

Google ' gadget Insurance ' and you will find companies that offer this on a worldwide basis. You would have to weigh up the cost, plus relevant excess, to decide whether it was worth it or not.
Personally I am not sure I would bother. Claiming on any Insurance for a mobile is never that straightforward. I would only take a cheap pre-paid phone and change to a local sim when I was out there.
Google 'taking iphone to Australia' and you will be see many forums which are helpful. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0
