A relative looked after the dog for a few days and has come with fleas. I thought it would be preferable to kennels and paid them what I would have paid the kennel but didn't realise their dog has fleas and they don't treat their dog.

My dog (cavalier) was treated with frontline 2 weeks ago, do I just re-apply and how often can I re-apply if the fleas haven't gone.

I assume I need to spray my home :( can anyone recommend a product?

My poor baby has fleas.:(:(

frontline is useless, get something like stronghold or advocete from your vet.

    do I just re-apply

Best wait until the minimum period is over (4 weeks for FL Combo, so probably the same for vanilla).

Having had fleas on one of our girls 2 years ago (my fault), we switched to FL Combo and haven't had problems since then. I bought Indorex for the carpets (as a one-off; haven't used it since that episode).

Could the relative not just take a hot bath with Carbolic soap or similar and use some kind of lotion on their head and other..err...areas?
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

Is Advantage considered any good for fleas? Been using it on my two dogs since Frontline was supposed to have become ineffective.

i think advantage is one of the good ones.

ones to avoid are frontline, bob martin and anything from a supermarket.

Don't be too upset with them, apparently there's been an increase recently due to the weather and the fleas are starting to get resistant to some treatments.

Your dog will be fine, don't worry!

Agree that Frontline is not so effective anymore, switch to a prescription product you get from the vet. Don't assume the relative doesn't treat their dog, you do and yours has still picked up fleas.

I'm not cross that she has picked up the fleas, she would have probably pciked them up if she went to the kennel, just don't like to think of her having them iykwim or us being bitten by them.

The dog is my SILs who leaves it with my MIL and MIL said she has told SIL to treat over and over but she hasn't.

Anyhow she has them now so just need to get rid if possible.

So one the treatments from above and indorex for carpets and fabric sofas?

Yep. When people say FL is useless, I've always assumes that they mean FL vanilla. FL Combo (prescription only) seems to work for us.
