Burglary claim - "assessor" visiting

The thing is, unless the police have evidence otherwise eg they can link it to a crime then the thief will normally get away with it even with a Hermione necklace.
Thanks for updating us.
How about naming the Insurer.
P.S Whenever I get exceptional service from an Insurer, I make a point of sending a thank you letter. The letters are read by their management before being passed on and they can help with their pay reviews. It's nice for the staff to get the letters and will ensure they keep going the extra mile0 -
dacouch, I would give you the name of the insurer, but the assessor was from another company that they use for these things.
The insurance company itself has not covered itself in glory in the last 24 hours, so I am waiting for some explanations from them. After a long time on hold (gaaaaah, adjusts brain) trying to sort that out with them I partially resolved the issue but I am now pursuing them in writing.
I wouldn't give the insurance company itself a gold star right now, but I do think that their call centre staff have been very good.
It's a bit "watch this space" for a few days. If your curiosity is killing you for some reason, please do PM me.
Thank you again for your help.
