Another thing is that even if they design the kitchen well they often don't put in deep enough upper cupboards. A few of the kitchens I've used where the property was built in the last 12 years where the developer has put in upper cupboards, have cupboards that are too shallow. This means you cannot store dinner plates in the upper cupboards as you cannot close the doors.
My mates got those in his place. Only useful for glasses, mugs and cans of food!
Rice Krispies...well you can forget it! He's only got 2 useable lower cupboards for food and plates etc (exlcuding under the skink) too. He only rents the place. It's about the same size as mine. I understand as his kitchen is so small (room for one person only) having normal size upper cupboards would be too claustrophobic, as every which way you turned you'd have a cupboard in your face. Was built in 2006 I believe. 2 bed house.0 -
Interesting article here:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/property/newhomes/9267158/New-houses-are-too-small-research-finds.htmlA study of people’s living spaces by RIBA found that people are going to “extreme” and “absurd” lengths to cram their belongings into their houses.
The research found that many British homes lack the storage space for basic day-to-day items, such as rubbish bins, household appliances and food.
RIBA’s report, called The Way We Live Now: What People Need and Expect from the Homes, is based on discussion groups and interviews around Britain.
The report found that some people are forced to store their vacuum cleaners at relatives’ houses a 20 minute drive away. One family admitted to keeping supermarket buy-one-get-one-free (BOGOF) food deals in the boot of their car because they do not have the cupboard space inside their home.0 -

You are ignoring the BTL figures. 43% of ALL outstanding mortgages are interest only.
35% of all residential mortgages are interest only.
Don't accuse people of lying when what they stated is true. If you are going to use repayment vehicle statistics and ignore that those very statistics cover ALL interest only mortgages, the only person telling porkies, is you.

We"ve already brought it down £5000 and as lower priced houses arent selling either see no point in lowering it any further. If the buyers were there they"d put low offers in anyway. There are so few first time buyers about who can afford to buy.Its so frustrating after wanting to move for so many years and saving up .
Are there houses selling at the moment? Yes, but alright not many.
The reason being that houses are overpriced for the current market conditions, people can't get the levels of mortgage that match the prices people are trying to sell for. Which means they are currently overpriced.
We are not in 2007 anymore. People can't get 6+ times mortgages now. They are like hens teeth.
Put it this way, knock 50% off your house price and I guarantee you it will sell. My point being, of course it's all about the price.0 -

Is that really the reason people aren’t buying I think it is more to do with they haven’t got the deposit.
Price is the main barrier no matter what some on here will say.0 -

Well maybe their houses are also too highly priced??
I will guarantee you one thing, there are buyers out there that will buy your property at a price they can afford(your words)
Like we keep hearing from the 9 to 5 clowns on here such as wotsthat and his sidekick Mr Rees/Prickpants, there is a huge demand for property out there, ask yourself the obvious,,
Why will nobody buy my home??
I think you will find there is only one answer0 -
