Noddle trying to scam punters out of £20 a year

How exactly are they scamming. They are still only reference agency which gives free access to report and are now adding a service like the Equifax Credit Expert only cheaper. As others have said it is a pointless service but hardly an instance of noddle scamming, more jumping on same bandwagon as Equifax an hoping to sign up suckers.0

Is it possible to get an updated credit report? Each time i log in it tells me the date that my credit report was created is always the same date.
ThanksAs at End of June 2014
Credit Cards - HSBC - £9422
Loans - NRAM £7500 & £128480 -
That's because it is only updated once a month!!!I have numerous qualifications in Business and Finance, Accountancy, Health and Safety and am now studying Law.
Don't rely on anything I write as it may be wrong!!!0 -
I've had several emails about the Improve plan but the information was so vague I had to google it to find out what I was paying my money for. Having read this thread, and other odds of info online, I think I'll be giving Improve a miss!
Saying that, I've found Noddle to be a helpful tool. My debt issue arose from a bitter divorce and being tied into a property my ex-husband and I had not long since bought before he moved in with his new girlfriend. It's taken nearly six years, but I've paid off almost £10,000 of debt,, that included significant arrears while I tried my hardest to keep afloat on a single income, and debt that my ex left me with (having cleared out our joint account, suddenly moved out and then quit his job to avoid having to contribute to the mortgage and debts in joint name - they just came after me instead).
Although I've been getting green check marks against my accounts for the last three and a half years due to payment plans through debt management, I am ultimately a "Bad Risk" borrower and will stay that way for some time until arrears start dropping off my reports. I've been on a single green bar on Noddle for a year and was terribly excited to be bumped up to two bars last month! :rotfl:It's still appalling, and I know that my bars probably have very little bearing on my credit-worthiness, but it was nice to see some improvement after the long hard slog. Through my free Noddle report, I also spotted some oddities and was able to check with the other credit report companies to ensure they were addressed - without Noddle I wouldn't have spotted them, as I'd used my 30 days free trials years ago and wasn't prepared to start forking out monthly to keep an eye on my credit when I had more important things to pay.
So, thanks Noddle for helping me feel more in control of my credit, but I will continue to be a contented free customer rather than a paying one!Original debts: £14,250
Still to pay: £250 /£950 - Lloyds TSB overdraft (although with interest and charges, I've already paid £1,675!)
VSP#150 - £68.250 -
I just recently got my Noddle account up and running after a long running attempt. I was alarmed at this Noddle Improve offer for £20 though.
I know that it isn't all debt laden people that use credit report websites but its a pretty conflicted website. On the one hand "here is your credit report" and on the other "go spend on all these wonderful offers we have"
A free tool yes, but with mixed messages.0 -
Well they're a business, they need to make money somehow!0

Why alarmed. They are the only CR company offering FREE report ongoing. Why anybody wants to pay them or any other company for a report which is their assessment of you I don't understand - they don't lend you money.
As a footnote the new soft search feature used by MSE is the same one Noddle uses on their recommendations page.
Use the free service, forget the paid one.:D0 -
Charging for a service doesn't make it a scam so why is everyone so dramatic?0

I think the OP should amend the title of this thread....
Scam.....
Never its there in big bold print....
Scam is when you only find out when its so well hidden you don't realise.
Some people are paying other co's £19.99 a month for the self same waste of time....
End of the day whoever is providing the loan etc. Will make their own mind up and no matter waht any of these scores say is meaning less. :rotfl:Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0
