I signed up with a phone company that let's met place free landline calls. Well, free for the first hour and then they start to charge.
I'm about to buy an landline phone and wondered if any phones have an "maximum call duration" settings. Something that you could set, let's say for 59 minutes, then the phone would brutally hang up the call. I suppose an alarm after 59 minutes would be the second next best thing.
Any ideas ?

Never heard of a phone that can do this. Could always just look at a clock or get one of those cooking timers though.0

Be interested to know what supplier is giving away free landline calls !!!0 -
Your mobile already has a timer on it that can give you an alert in 59m.
The calls are not free, they are inclusive. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
The op is talking land line use.
Not found a landline phone that has a timer, be interested in one myself, OH always manages to make the call last a few seconds over the 1 hour limit.0 -

I'm well aware of that, but nothing to stop them setting the timer on the mobile when they start their landline call-after all, they'll have a whole hour to fill while chatting. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Hi - funnily enough I asked on another thread which phone has a call duration showing on the LCD - I have found it now on Ebay (well one of them) its a 'BT Decor 310' and I had one ages ago - shows how long incoming or outgoing call has taken.
Only thing you need then is willpower to hang up and ring them again!Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0
