Any washing machine experts?

Hi,

I have an Indesit WD125 that has stopped working.

When I try to do a wash, it doesn't start. The light comes on and the door lock clicks, but it doesn't start, doesn't fill with water, nothing.

I have switched if off and on at the mains to reset, and have cleared the filter but it still doesn't work.

Any ideas? I am in the middle of potty training a toddler (i.e. lots of washing) so slightly desperate, particularly with a bank holiday coming up!)

Quite often it's the door switch. Turn it on, wait for the click, then try hitting the machine on the front, near the door handle. Sometimes they'll start again, but it'll need a new switch.

Thanks for the tip, but a thump didn't work. Any idea roughly how much a new switch is?

Check at the back to make sure the fill hose isnt kinked or twisted.

The door isn't completely shut so the interlock doesn't properly engage even though the lights do all the right things so water isn't allowed to flow.

No need to assault the machine. Just push the door firmly - it will close.
