Help is out hamster alright?

My freind came over yesterday and commented if hamster was ok did it have a skin condition. only just noticed on her underneath on her tummy underneath her head shes started to lose here fur?
can a hamster get alopecia?
do you think shes in discomfort or pain?
what is it? should we take to vets?
its daughters although think hubby loves her more.

Definately worth a vet trip. Probably something minor like mites (unlike fleas, most species of mites aren't visible to the human eye) and just in need of some treatment, so try not to worry too much.0

Indeed, we cannot give you veterinary advice. BUT I can give you one advice: make sure the vet you go and see specialises in exotic pets, ie not just dogs and cats. Or at least one who is willing to ask for a colleague's opinion if they are unsure of what the problem could be.

And keep us updated

We used to have guinea pigs and without exception the losing of fur happened shortly before they became really ill and passed away.
I don't know if this also happens with hamsters but definitely go to the vet.0 -
We had 2 dwarf hamsters and as they got old ours developed little bald patches. Like others said, best to take it to the vet to get checked over.
