Aluminium or Steel framed? All the sales guys have insisted that theirs are best. What's the truth? I didn't even know there was metal inside the plastic bits.

Aluminum does not rust, steel can be galvanised and not rust either....They reenforce their PVC with metal otherwise the sheer weight of it all would buckle the plastic only frames. Choose the one that appears stronger to your eye.

One good rule is if its cheap, its cheap and usually nasty so the cost you may get quoted could give you some indication on how well its built. Oh by the way both Aluminium (anodised) and galvanised steel rust in time or if scratched when being put together which will undo all the goodness of the protection..
