Moved home, want to change supplier
Moved home this week and called the current supplier, Eon, to register my details with them. I haven't had any paperwork through yet though and wondered if I can go ahead and switch now or do I have to wait a certain amount of time? I asked for the standard tariff and there are no tie-ins but then a recorded message at the end of the call mentioned 14 days but not sure what that referred to now!

Yes you can start the switch now, your chosen supplier will give EoN the required notice. The switch should take about 4-6 weeks so you will get a bill from EoN for that period.
Use the comparison sites to make your choice easier and when decided see what cashback is available from the likes of Topcashback etc.0 -
Hi dave
You'll receive a welcome pack through the post in the next few days. This will give details of the tariff you'll be on until you switch away.
However, as notbritishgas says, you don't need to wait for this pack and can start the switch immediately.
The 14 days mentioned on the recorded message is the time we give for customers to change their minds about the tariff they've opted for. This is a general message and is more relevant to restricted tariffs rather than the standard one you've gone for.
Hope this helps dave. Give me a shout if you need any more info as will be happy to help.
