Massive Price Hikes We Should Boycott

A couple of price rises that I have noticed in the last week or so have really annoyed me and provoked me into this thread so I apologise if this has been covered elsewhere. I understand things are going up but these two in particular have gone beyond reasonable in my opinion. Please join in with any others you want to warn us about. I will get the ball rolling with these.

Asda Bags of red delicious apples (approx 5 in a bag) was £2 the other week and are now £3 (!!!!!!??):eek::eek:
Tesco Everday price creme caramel pack of 4 were 45p (possibly 48p) are £1 on the website tonight:eek::eek::eek:

That's quite a rise for the everyday value creme caramels, it puts them at the same price as their normal Tesco branded ones :(

Is it any wonder that people choose junk food instead of fruit!

its a common thing these days what usually happens in asda the jack the price up for a week or two then do a rollback to show you how much they are saving you.
the other trick they did the other month on there own brand soft cheese was keep the price the same £1 was in 300g tubs then dropped the tub size down to 200g. in order to bring in price rises thru the back door.

I would have thought these pratices are common with them all its nothing new its just whether people actually notice most don't and thats how they make there millions of profit each and every year. at the end of the day thats what there in business for to make money.

and yes if you think you are being robbed on a item don't buy it, buy something else instead in instance of above soft cheese switched to philly which was 300g and a £1 and a few weeks later the asda one switched down to 50p still on 200g but worked out cheaper, people have to vote with there feet just buy what is on offer and use mysupermarket.co.uk to check prices before you go.

today stopped in tesco just for some sure for men £1.45 and at asda £2.89 bought a load stuffed in cupboard.

Apparently fry light is the same price but they have reduced the size of the bottle by about 80 ml!

I think that Asda has done the same with the £1 punnets of cherries which are 200g. They certainly seem much smaller than when I bought some a couple of weeks ago.

I hadn't noticed that but will certainly look out for it. Currently I've been stocking up on Frylight Sunflower which they're selling in a local Nisa store for about £1.65.

Agree with OP I really try to boycott/find another supplier for things that have ridiculously inflated prices. The trouble is that while it's OK for treats (stopped buying Pringles a year or more ago) it's harder when it's something like your favourite bread.

The size of everything seems to be shrinking these days.
