My brother whose house had to be underpinned was handed some kind of certificate of the work when it was finished , can you not find out if that was done?

The vendor assures me that the all recommended work was done BUT does not have proofs due to fact the company that did the work is no longer in business and the architect co. said it does not keep records for that length of time?
Should I buy and is this classed as serious damage?
The Report classes this as minor structural defect.

I'd be very suspicious of that! When I bought my house it came with receipts and certificates from everything from the windows to a 1981 letter from the council giving permission to plant a rose hedge and cherry tree in the front garden.Solar install June 2022, Bath
