  • I abandoned the idea of doing the kitchen. I made lunch and went to the shop with hubby and when i come back my motivation was gone as i was starting to feel really drained. Too many late nights I think :rotfl:

    MIL's! (groan)
I entered a comp with the local paper on my mobile and also on my home phone to win £1000. The draw was at 8pm but I only got back from school open day 7.50 so I quickly made the kids hot choc while waiting then house phone rings 2 mins to 8! It was MIL talking to DD so while I was desperately trying to get her off the phone just incase the paper phoned I hadn't heard my mobile ringing too. When I checked it was an unknown number, couldn't be traced! After cursing the MIL for 20 mins hubby phones, (he never calls from hospital where he works) turns out it was him earlier to tell me he was late for work as there was traffic! Like mother like son, always call when you don't want them to! :rotfl:

Thanks Sylvia - just the plain Baileys please.
Just had a text from DS1 he is just boarding the plane at Heathrow and says it has been a nightmare there.

  • Combine the two thanks Sylvia I will have a Bailey's Hot Chocolate. I am a big lover of hot choc... But definitely need a NERO Milano hot choc some time soon. Best hot choc i have ever tasted (although the take out hot choc i had on Bournemouth beach for the fireworks was a close second)

    Hiya all,

Hugs and kisses to those that need them

Alice is back home and safely tucked up in her own bed snoring her head off

I got in bed but just can't sleep might stay up until the night carers come in between 1-2 am then try and get some sleep before they come again at 5:30 am

they have installed a key safe on the front of our building so the night carers can come in and turn Alice over in bed

can't really get used to the idea of strangers coming into the bedroom while I am in bed but I suppose that I will have to if I want to sleep

it's been a bit of a learning curve for me and Alice's carers tonight but the hospital hasn't helped as they have discharged her with only 1 incontinence pad, and no gloves, wipes, nets or toileting sling

I even had to chase her medication up as the ambulance crew said that it was being sent by taxi but was a bit concerned because 2 hours later it still hadn't arrived so I phoned the hospital and the ward where she had been staying, and the nurse there couldn't even tell me what taxi the hospital had used or what medication that she needed to take :(

I managed to find out what taxi the hospital had used by phoning the discharge ward and chased Alice's medication up myself

I said to the nurse that I normally give her warfarin tablets in the evening she said that her warfarin tablets had been stopped I asked why and she said that I would have to speak to the doctor

I'm a little concerned as her family has a history of blood clots in fact her brother died from one so I need to find out why they have been stopped

I always thought that once warfarin was prescribed you had to take the tablets for life

district nurse is coming tomorrow between 9am til 5pm but as they are local I will probably pay them a visit and present them with my shopping list of things that I need but haven't been provided with ;)
  • What a wonderful person you are amilucky? Alice is very lucky to have such a caring companion and I am sorry that you have had to chase things up when you really shouldn't have to. Big hugs to you I hope they soon sort everything out properly for you
