Or if things have got on top of you and you've left it a bit late you could consider getting them an easter egg each?
The "teen" sized eggs seem to have been on offer in all the supermarkets for about a £1 each, the small child ones about 80p.
I would personally prefer my child to get this even though I'm not keen on her eating a lot of chocolate. I just hate having loads of little bits of junk adding to the clutter of stuff already in my house.0 -
Crikey! Party bags for 2 & 3 year olds? Is it just me or does anyone else think this is setting a precedent,? In a couple of years you might be wishing you had never started this lark, or at least delayed it as long as possible!
My son will be 2 this year & we are having a party (only becuase my Mum has insited on booking it for him, at 2 I don't think he will care much!), I was planning on giving the other children a slice of cake & an inflated balloon to take home!
Just MHO:oPost Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
one of my pet hates in party bags is bubbles!!! the kids end up spilling the liquid everywhere they're just awful.
However:
balloons,
packets of raisins,
also i bought some little packets of hair bobbles for the girls from tesco's which i think are better as they're actually going to be used rather than just played with one and chucked.Other women want a boob job. Honey the only silicone i'm interested in is on a 12 cup muffin tray, preferably shaped like little hearts0 -
Rather than sweets I brought a pack of gingerbread man - £1 for 20. I wrapped each one individually in a sandwich bag and tied the top with ribbon. I saw some gingerbread bunnies at Asda the other day. You can also buy those little packs of the biscuits for the younger ones. Not entirely junk free but better than sweets.
I have also seen Mcdonalds toys in charity shops still in their original wrapper that I thought would be a good idea for party bags but perhaps for slightly older children.
The other idea is to ditch the idea of party bags and just give each child a book. The Book People do excellent packs as Rhiannon of Woolamai has already mentioned. A lot less hassle than party bags and will probably work out cheaper in the long run.
Good luck and I hope the party goes well.0 -
Another thing i have bought for party bags, which I am saving for next year, is photo albums. Lloyds Pharmacy had 10 Scooby Doo ones for £1.49 on BOGOF, which is a complete bargain. Next year i am going to wrap a photo album in cellophane and then print off photos of the party for the children, which I will give them at a later date. That's Numberwang!0

if you have a Home Bargains by you they have the facecloths that expand in water for 39p each, (bob the builder, teletubbies and many more. these are great. we had one in my daughters party bag and she loved watching it expand in the bath, she couldnt understand why I couldnt make it small again.0

If you have a woolworths near by, playdough have a special edition box of 50 mini pots of dough in lots of different colours for £4.99 (i have seen them in my local post office too for the same price) you could pop a few in each bag and maybe be get some pastry cutters to put in to
Gosh my daughter is two this year (think we might go on our hols):beer:0 -
