Patio pear tree not looking good
Our Patio Pear tree is about about 2 years old and had blossom this year but the ends of the leaves on top of plant have gone black and wilted and the lower leaves seem to be curling up.
Any ideas?

Not sure but potential problems could be
1) Waterlogging. Our pear tree hates having its feet wet.
2) Exhaustion of the planting compost leaving it vulnerable to disease.
3) Wind. Our blossoms blew off and there are no pears this year.
I would recommend Hessayon's Fruit Expert. It's cheap and reliable, as well as being fuss-free.
Hope this helps0 -
It also could be lack of water.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0

I was chatting to my neighbour and she said her 5 year old apple and plum trees are dead or dying due to the weather. She is a landscape gardener, so not a novice. We are near Basingstoke.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0

Assuming it is in a large enough pot ...
Check under the pot for ants/v fine soil - they can build a large nest in patio pots and kill patio trees - if found treat with ant killer then replenish with fresh compost
If not ants then whatever it is, a watering and a thick mulch of compost could help and won't harm - I'd use a roughish homemade compost if it were mineYou never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0 -
Thanks for all the advice, will go and take a closer look and work through the ideas one at a time and hopefully find something.
