Bit Puzzled.

Took year old car in for it's first service today at a garage I don't usually use. When the guy brought the car out to me I noticed that the engine malfunction and drive train lights were on with a warning on the info screen (Ford Fiesta). He said he hadn't noticed took it back inside and 10 mins later came back saying they'd "reset the ignition values" and the lights were off. Drives fine on the way home but I'm a bit puzzled as to how they caused the lights to come on and why they would need to reset the ignition values. Any ideas?

They probably left a lead or hose unplugged somewhere which caused the engine lights to come on. They probably took it back inside and plugged it back in!

Unplugged a sensor to move a wire to get access to something and forgot to plug it back in.

    Sends cars crazy these days.

  • Thanks. I assumed it was just changing the oil and filters so hadn't thought anything might be unplugged.

They would/should have disconnected the battery. Plus in some modern cars it seems like they make it difficult to service on purpose.
