Poor Kittens :(

Just found this on my local newspaper site

http://www.romfordrecorder.co.uk/news/kittens_abandoned_on_number_5_bus_1_1490393

Poor little things!

What is wrong with some people. I hope they find them and prosecute (not that it will be worth it).

It has been so hot here this week and the buses have been bad enough for humans but 6 little kittens :(

At least they were saved,at ASSISI where I volunteer, they have had some really horrific cases, like the kitten that was sexually assaulted (now rehomed & thriving well in a loving home) and only a few weeks ago,one of the girls found a dog chained to her garden fence by it's owner with a note saying '"rehome it!"..

  • little kittens are so pretty and soft, how could you not feel affection for them on sight ? Why didn't the owner have the mother cat spayed anywayif they knew they wouldn't want to keep any kittens ? People acquire pets without thinking through the considerable costs and time needed to care for them.

I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

It's very sad that this still happens. I'm currently fostering a mum with 5 kittens who were abandoned when the kits were a week old. The mum had obviously been cared for as she was in a very healthy condition, but I'm guessing the owners didn't want her with kittens (why people can't neuter their animals if they don't want more I don't know).
Mum is an absolute sweetheart and so good with her kits who are a joy to watch/be with.
I just couldn't ever imagine abandoning something so helpless and adorable, I just wish these people could be found and as you say, prosecuted.

I keep meaning to ask you, Spike, why do you bring pets over to Britain? Most resuces here have massive waiting lists as it is - I read of one with 400 waiting to come in the other day.
