Val was banned for not posting a review of a campsite she'd been to. they lock the thread if the poster doesn't submit a positive review. because Val didn't do that she got banned.

I inadvertently mentioned her name cos I was thinking about buying a bell and got banned too... though they just excluded me from posting but no contact to tell me why!!
Val has painted other tents since. if you Google Val's bells and labs blog you'll be able to see her work. ( and catch up on the Cabanots... remember those pics?

Yep, now I'm up to speed. Val's Bells have always made me want to sell the caravan and go back to canvas.

they're gorgeous aren't they? she's very modest about her eye for what works and gets all modest when people tell her she could make money doing it.

visidigi I did as you suggested ( much easier than I thought)

looks like anyone visiting via a proxy server has their posting rights withdrawn too ( didn't post anything that broke any rules. 5 little posts.. then banned again.)

think I'm just going to leave things as they are. I do detest newbies being made a fool of just for the sake of a website's revenue. maybe cos mse is so well run I expect everywhere else to be open and honest.

Just for clarification - you still own the copyright to images you took, but you have allowed the site to use them as they please.

ah OK. so I still own them but they can use them as they please.

och well at least the newbies that join will still be able to benefit from them.

wish there was a way to let the newbies know about the campsite reviews not being reliable ( ie mostly good reviews get put up anything negative tends to end in exclusion according to others who have been submitted truthful reviews of poor sites- which means you could book a bad site after reading good reviews)
